Commencing this evening (June 26) at 5pm, cyclists from all over Ireland will be attempting to break the time record of 20 hours to cycle from Mizen Head in County Cork to Malin Head in Co Donegal.

Pat Conneely, in conjunction with Mayo Cancer Support Association, is organising a sponsored walk on Clare Island on Saturday August 22 commencing from the pier at 11.30am. Refreshments will be served and tee-shirts are available on the day. A raffle in conjunction with the walk will be held.

€160,000 has been raised for local groups by C&C Cellular, with management from Mid West Radio, in a recycling mobile phones campaign for defibrillators along with a recent Charity Ball held in Breaffy House Hotel last weekend.

It had been quite a while since Mayo AC did not have a finisher in the top three of a Road Race League. The Mayo Cancer Support Association will receive a cheque for over €2,000 which was raised through Aramark Ireland’s inaugural Charity Cupcake Campaign. The campaign raised over €8,500 in total for Aramark’s Charitable fund which comprises Action Breast Cancer, the Jack and Jill Foundation, the Mayo Cancer Support Association and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
