Commencing this evening (June 26) at 5pm, cyclists from all over Ireland will be attempting to break the time record of 20 hours to cycle from Mizen Head in County Cork to Malin Head in Co Donegal.

The DeCare Dental fun run/road race will be held on the streets of Claremorris on Saturday August 29 at 5pm. Registration will be from 3pm at the Dalton Inn. The entry fee is €15 and all proceeds will go to the Mayo Cancer Support Association.

Big turn out for Claremorris road race

It had been quite a while since Mayo AC did not have a finisher in the top three of a Road Race League. This happened last Saturday in the fifth race in Mayo AC's 2009 Road Race League, sponsored by C & C Cellular, which took place in sunny conditions over a recognised testing course at Claremorris. The eighth DeCare International sponsored road race and walk started and finished in Main Street.

Mayo Cancer Support receives over €2,000 from Aramark

The Mayo Cancer Support Association will receive a cheque for over €2,000 which was raised through Aramark Ireland’s inaugural Charity Cupcake Campaign. The campaign raised over €8,500 in total for Aramark’s Charitable fund which comprises Action Breast Cancer, the Jack and Jill Foundation, the Mayo Cancer Support Association and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Fashion show in Horkan’s, Turlough
